Matte Paper Prints
Epson Enhanced Matte Paper is an un-textured bright, white paper suitable for fine art reproduction. It yields highly saturated images for a ‘painterly' look, while maintaining excellent highlight and shadow detail.
Epson Enhanced paper has been selected by the artist as an economically priced fine art paper which still maintains a high degree of print quality and image permanence.
Matte paper prints are created with a 2-3 inch white border in addition to the listed image size. In most cases the final size will be 24” x 36” so that it will fit into standard 24 x 36 frames which are widely available. Exceptions to this will be paintings with uncommon image dimensions such as ‘Bhai Bachittar Singh.'

Giclee denotes a state-of-the-art printmaking process using high resolution digital scans, archival inks, and pH neutral fine art paper. Images are generated from high resolution digital scans and printed with archival quality inks onto canvas and water color paper with an image quality so high that the print looks like the artist’s original. Giclee prints are considered the gold standard of the art print industry.
- Very high-quality reproduction
- Superb colour matching
- Look and feel of original artwork
- Perfectly reproduces subtle tones and graduations lost in standard print processes
- Light fast – won’t fade or discolour
The Process
Giclee prints are created using professional 8-Color to 12-Color ink-jet printers. These specialty printers are capable of producing incredibly detailed prints for both the fine art and photographic markets.
The Quality
The quality of the giclee print rivals traditional silver-halide and gelatin printing processes and is commonly found in museums, art galleries, and photographic galleries.
The Market
Numerous examples of giclee prints can be found in New York City at the Metropolitan Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Chelsea Galleries. Recent auctions of giclee prints have fetched $10,800 for Annie Leibovitz, $9,600 for Chuck Close, and $22,800 for Wolfgang Tillmans (April 23/24 2004, Photographs, New York, Phillips de Pury & Company.)
